The Saints should be getting one of their injured playmakers back this week

It looks like the New Orleans Saints will benefit from the return of at least one offensive playmaker for their Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts. New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson, who has been sidelined for four games due to a calf injury, is expected to return for the upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts. Coach Dennis Allen said that while he may be limited early on in the week, there is a good chance he will be available. Johnson had been linked up with quarterback Derek Carr in training camp for big gains, but hasn't performed well this season.

It looks like the New Orleans Saints will benefit from the return of at least one offensive playmaker for their Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Coach Dennis Allen said tight end Juwan Johnson, who has missed the last four games after suffering a calf injury in pregame warmups prior to the Buccaneers loss, is expected to return this week.

“He may be a bit limited early on in the week, but I think he’s at the point now where we feel pretty confident there’s a good chance we’ll have him available,” Allen said.

Johnson looked primed for a breakout season in training camp, when he was routinely linking up with quarterback Derek Carr for big gains against the Saints defense.

That hasn’t materialized on the field yet this season, though. In three games, Johnson caught seven passes on 12 targets for 61 yards. His best game came in the opener, when he caught three passes for 36 yards with a long of 27.
