The Obesity Society presented her with the 2023 TOPS Research Achievement Award for her research in the field of maternal energy regulation. Emily Flanagan, a Pennington researcher, was also awarded the 20th Early Career Travel Award. Obatala Sciences, a New Orleans biotech firm, received the Minority Health Products and Services Firm of the Year Award from the Department of Commerce. The award will be presented at the National MED Week Conference by the Minority Business Development Agency in Baltimore.

Redman first joined the staff of Pennington in 2005 postdoctoral fellow.
Emily Flanagan, a Pennington researcher, was also honored by The Obesity Society with the 2023 Early Career Travel Award.

The award will be presented at this week’s National MED Week Conference by the Minority Business Development Agency in Baltimore. Trivia Frazier, co-founder, president and CEO of Obatala Sciences will be on hand to receive the honor.
